I learned art from my father, who was a Disney animator, then a commercial artist, and a fine arts painter. When I started college, I choose to become a geologist and spent years as a scientist conducting ocean-basin research and later worked as an environmental consultant. I returned to art later in life with a strong desire to channel my emotional energy and love for the natural world into abstract form.
I am a member of the Los Angeles Art Association. I have attended metal-sculpting and iron-pour workshops conducted by renown sculptor D'Jean Jawrunner in Tucumcari, New Mexico. In 2022, I attended the RUC Artist Residency in Cividate Camuno, Italy.
In The Beginning........There Was Art. Our prehistoric ancestors used cave walls as their canvas to paint Paleolithic creatures. Their art, like ours today, was an expression of emotions. My paintings and sculptures are abstractions of elements in our natural, real world. My art should not need explanation or analyses; it should stand by itself to stir the viewer's emotions. Remembering that we must take care of our planet.....Extinction is forever.
